Colin R. McKenna
Colin Mckenna’s career in the Financial Services industry spans over 35 years. Colin was a registered representative and investment officer with AXA Equitable/LPL and Bleakley, Dwyer and Schwartz/ Northwestern Mutual and Robert Baird & Co. where he advised clients on insurance, retirement, and investment planning, as well as individual portfolio management. As Vice President Colin led a team in N.Y.C and then went on to become Executive Vice President for the St Louis Branch, consisting of VP’s and 140 Financial Professionals, and was responsible for the entire operations of the firm.
Over the course of his career, Colin has acquired financial proficiency relating to tax and retirement planning, investment strategies, executive benefit plans, corporate-owned life insurance, and personal and business insurance. Colin conducted seminars for physicians, corporate executives, investment banking professionals and developed a client base through referrals from Attorney’s and Accountants, a testament to his financial expertise and trustworthiness.
Throughout his career Colin has recruited, coached, and developed 100s of financial professionals, ensuring their success in providing financial advice. As a result, Colin’s team was consistently ranked in the top 10 among over 225 Vice Presidents and was the highest-producing and #1-ranked team for two consecutive years achieving the coveted Gold National Builders Trophy. He also achieved a record-breaking 67 and 70% retention and development rate among his advisors for the firm.
Colin has been consistently recognized for his sales and management excellence throughout his career, winning awards and honors including 7 National Builders Trophies including back-to-back Gold National Builders Trophies. He is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and GAMA International and NAIFA. He has been quoted in publications including CNBC.com, the Erickson Living Tribune, and Military Times.
Before joining the financial services industry, Colin was an actor, appearing in numerous national television commercials and print ads for magazines, company advertisements, and trade journals, as well as a pilot for a TV series, appearing on CBS a Time Life Production.
Colin received his BS in Marketing from the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University and his Retirement Planning Specialist Certification from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds multiple state licenses; Life, Accident & Health, Series 7, 24, 51, 63, and 65, and a New Jersey Real Estate license. An avid golfer, Colin was the #1 player for Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University golf teams.
